Al Ain School

The project was a new 2,400 students’ secondary technical school in Al Ain that features a high level of sustainability.

Its design meets Estidama Pearl 2 standard — sustainable initiatives and includes below-ground stormwater retention tanks for the irrigation of playing fields and landscaping, solar panels for the canteen hot water supply, and freestanding shading structures. Light tubes were proposed for the common circulation spaces as part of the sustainability initiative and to ensure natural lighting wherever possible. Plant, electricity substations, and water chillers are located centrally at the rear of the complex.

DSI’s founding Partner – Shaljas Orkatteri, was the lead Electrical designer for the project
